With a hard drive that has a one hundred and sixty gigabytes capacity, the Lenovo Y series laptop is a modern laptop, which is also fitted with four gigabytes worth of memory. This laptop is unique, in that it is portable enough as it weighs less than two kilograms. It is also fitted with a special feature which makes it great for a number of multi media programs. When it comes to security, this machine is fitted with some management tools which place it a step ahead of the other models when it comes to such features. This is your answer to both home and office use, considering the fact that it comes with already installed office software.

And to avoid the hassle of having to go to cyber cafe’s every so often and having in mind the thought that internet connectivity could be unreliable, this machine comes complete with 10/100 wireless and Ethernet LAN connectivity and it is also completely compatible with wireless WAN applications, as well as external blue tooth. And just to highlight the advanced security system that is installed in this Lenovo Y series laptop, there is a veri face, a face recognizing software that works in collaboration with a 1.3 mega pixel camera, in such a way that it helps control access to your computer. It does this through recognizing your face when you are seated at the keyboard and can even go to the extent of locking the system once it determines that you have stepped away.

Most are the times when you have to boot your system whenever you want to play an audio disc. With this machine, you will not be required to boot your operating system and it is also fitted with a home theater audio system which is credited with quality theater style sound. Importation of digital pictures has never been easier, as the Lenovo y series laptops come fitted with a six in one media card reader. And if you also feel that you wish to import multiple videos or pictures, then it is quite easy since there is an easy capture tool, which offers such features.

The machine has a stylish appearance, which is complemented by a fourteen inch wide screen display. This screen is ideal when it comes to viewing of DVD movies and proper viewing of spreadsheets. The screen is also credited with brighter images and sharper contrast, as it allows light to pass through with minimal diffusion. Mis hits and typos are non existent with this type of laptop as the keypad has the ability to expand to a full size keyboard. The Lenovo Y series laptops are fitted with a palm rest that is always used when working with the touch pad. They bear attractive silver shells, which are quite appealing to the eye.

And if you are thinking that power black outs are going to disrupt the fun that you are supposed to have with the machine, then you need to know that it is fitted with a six cell lithium ion battery, that is going to allow you to enjoy up to four hours of unplugged fun.

A tablet PC is different from other PC’s in such a way that it uses touch screen technology. It uses a stylus or your fingertip in making inputs instead of a keyboard or mouse. The X Series Tablet of Lenovo also uses touch screen technology and the regular keyboard as a way for you to input data. This series is often used by educators and executives who need powerful devices to improve their productivity. An added feature in this series is that it is spill-resistant. If you accidentally splash your coffee on the keyboard you don’t have to worry since it is designed to safely drain away any liquid that may try to enter the system.

There is currently one model in this series which is the X200.

The standard screen size for netbooks these days is 10 inches. If you liked the S9 but had a problem with its 8 inch display then look no further since the S10 has a 10.2 inch LCD display with 1024×600 resolution. Think of the S10 as the bigger brother of the S9. Lets see what this netbook packs.Specifications:
Processor: Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz
Memory: 512 MB up to 2GB (Maximum)
HDD: 80GB HDD up to 160GB HDD
Graphics: Intel GMA 950

additional specs: USB 2.0 ports for you to connect your USB devices, a 4 in 1 card reader, external monitor, ethernet port ,802.11 b/g wireless, 1.3 MP webcam, some models have bluetooth.

Basically, the specifications are almost the same as the S9, we are seeing upgrades on the camera and memory though.

Testing the unit:
This Lenovo IdeaPad S10 unit has an excellent build, even though the parts are made of plastic, it is very tough and looks like it could withstand lots of drops from the table. The 6-cell battery model would weigh at 2.80 pounds and would give you an average of 5 hours running time. Programs open up fairly quickly under Windows XP and if you have a 2GB memory then you would see improvement in speeds.

If you are looking for an all around model that’s got a large display then try to consider the S10.
